This Privacy Policy describes how 6Gate ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use our application. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
1. Information We Collect
6Gate stores the following data locally on your device only:
- OAuth credentials — Client ID, Client Secret, and access tokens for connected social media platforms. These are stored in a local SQLite database on your machine.
- Account information — Display names and usernames obtained from connected social media accounts via their APIs.
- Video file paths — Local paths to video files you choose to upload through the App.
- Job history — Logs of publishing actions, including status and any error messages.
We do not collect, transmit, or store any of this data on external servers. All data remains in a local database on your own computer.
2. Third-Party API Access
When you connect a social media account (e.g. TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram), 6Gate communicates directly with that platform's official API on your behalf. This includes:
- Starting the OAuth authorization flow to obtain your consent.
- Exchanging authorization codes for access tokens.
- Uploading video content you explicitly select.
- Fetching your public profile information (display name, username).
These interactions are governed by each platform's own privacy policy:
3. Data Storage & Security
All data is stored in a SQLite database file on your local machine. Access tokens and secrets are stored in plaintext within this local database — you are responsible for securing your device. We recommend keeping your machine secure and not sharing your database file.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, or transmit your personal data to any third parties. The only outbound network connections 6Gate makes are directly to the official APIs of platforms you have explicitly connected (TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram).
5. Data Deletion
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by:
- Using the "Delete" / "Disconnect" buttons within the App to remove individual providers or accounts.
- Deleting the App's local database file from your computer.
6. Children's Privacy
6Gate is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of 6Gate after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
